We are the National Association of Podcasters and our goal is to be the largest trade association in North America involving all aspects of podcasting and vlogging from both hobbyist to commercial advocacy. We also offer a suite of courses on podcasting and services for our members.

Mission Statement

We are the National Association of Podcasters and our goal is to be the largest trade association in
North America involving all aspects of podcasting and vlogging for both hobby and commercial
advocacy. We also offer a suite of beginner course on podcasting.

Philosophy and Vision

Philosophy: Freedom of speech, collaboration, and integrity are pillars that we will require members of NAOP to uphold always.

Vision: Rather than create another platform for podcasters, NAOP will seek to become the central hub
for podcasts groups everywhere. NAOP will help legitimize podcasting through accreditation courses for
podcast coaches, trainers, editors, and producers. NAOP will lobby on behalf of its members for their
rights to free speech and other issues that affect the podcasting industry.

2018 Goals

  • To host our first national convention
  • To get our first 1000 members
  • To get large corporate sponsorships
  • To gain the support of well-known podcasters
  • To transition from a partnership to a nonprofit. 

Target Market

Past, present, and future podcasters are our target market. We also welcome audio editors/engineers, website designers, producers, coaches, virtual assistants, social media/marketing experts, and anyone else in the industry that wants to be around and connect with other like-minded individuals.

Industry

The podcasting industry is growing at an alarming rate, but it’s still the “Wild West”. Anyone can watch a 20 minute YouTube video and claim to be a “podcasting expert” or “podcast coach”. There are many excellent free and paid podcasting courses on the internet, but there’s no standard course that’s used across the board. There are also hundreds, if not thousands of podcasting meetups, masterminds, conferences, and social media groups about podcasting. Many of which overlap with the same people. But there isn’t a central hub for all things podcasting. Podcasting is growing year over year at an alarming rate due to the ease of listening by smartphone, popular programs like “Serial”, and the ability to make money doing something you enjoy. Podcasting will likely continue to grow rapidly for years to come.
